PR NATION

Indian cricket team's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah did not play in the third ODI against England at Lord's on Sunday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Bumrah suffered a left knee injury during the second ODI in Cardiff.

According to BCCI, Bumrah was hit on his left knee while fielding. The injury caused swelling, making him unavailable for the final match of the series.

BCCI Update: "Jasprit Bumrah had an impact injury on his left knee while fielding in the second ODI in Cardiff. He was not available for selection for the third ODI due to reactive swelling in his left knee."

Shubman Gill Confirms Bumrah's Injury

India captain Shubman Gill also confirmed that Bumrah was not fit to play the series decider.

Gill said the team hopes Bumrah recovers soon, as he is one of India's most important bowlers.

India Makes Three Big Changes

With Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar both unavailable, India made important changes to the playing XI.

  • Prince Yadav replaced Jasprit Bumrah.

  • KL Rahul returned after missing the second ODI due to illness, replacing Shivam Dube.

Gill explained that India wanted four fast bowlers because the Lord's pitch was expected to help pace bowlers more than spinners.
